18 inch wood pirogue hand made and painted by local artist, Rodney Lewis. Rodney's interpretation of scenic Louisiana is reflected on each pirogue he paints. Through is paintbrush we see the culture of Louisiana. Coastal shrimping, the fun of fishing and the serenity of nature are common themes of his artwork.  

This pirogue depicts a boy fishing in a Louisiana swamp at sunset near a cabin.   Because each pirogue is hand painted, each piece will be unique and not exactly like any other.

A pirogue is a small flat bottom boat associated with the Cajun of Louisiana marsh.
